Have you heard of Groupon yet? Most likely, as it’s a super popular site! Groupon was originally based only in the US, but has entered the Canadian market in recent months!
Groupon offers daily discounts for local businesses in select cities in Canada. Right now, they are only offering daily deals to Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver. They offer discounts on everything from restaurants, attractions and services (such as the spa!).
When you sign up with Groupon, each day they’ll send you a new deal to your email inbox. If it interests you, buy it, if it doesn’t, delete the email! For each new daily deal they have a minimum amount of people required to purchase in order to make the deal go through. So, if enough people buy the deal, the deal is a go! (Don’t worry, you won’t be charged anything if the deal doesn’t meet it’s minimum amount of purchasers)
Grouponis not offered in my area yet, but I was able to get in on one the other week. It was a $50 gift card to The GAP for only $25! Hard to resist that one, especially when I needed a birthday present! Since I do visit Vancouver and Calgary occasionally, I’m signed up to get those emails, I might just find something I could use on a holiday!

Last week I got an 80$ value groupon (cost was 40$) for an online photo print site, they stretch pictures over canvas/frame, it’s really beautiful. Seemed like a good deal for someone’s christmas present!
