I had a pretty good shopping day yesterday that I thought I would share with you! Normally the only shopping I do on a weekly basis is for groceries. Usually to our local Superstore. I’m boring like that. But in my defense, I save a ton of money staying home
But this week, Walmart and Zellers had some deals that I wanted to take advantage of. Here’s how my shopping trip turned out:

The Superstore:
I didn’t need much this week to make the meals on our menu as I had most of the ingredients on hand. So keep in mind, what’s pictured above is not what we eat for an entire week!
- 6 whole wheat buns $1.32
- Dr. Oetker Chocolate mousse – Free because of the coupon I had from their Facebook promo
- Unico black beans $1.00
- Red grapes $3.17
- Green pepper $0.69
- Zucchini $0.76
- Turkey sandwich meat $2.43
- Sour Cream $1.79
- No Name canned corn $0.50
- Bananas $1.59
- McCain hashbrowns $3.87 (total splurge!)
- Milk $3.97 (forgot to add to the picture)
- Purex 12 Double rolls toilet paper $4.97
Total: $26.35

Zellers:
- Fleecy fabric softener $0.84 (regular $2.34 - $1.50 off coupon)
- Johnson’s baby lotion $1.00 (regular $3.00 – $2.00 off coupon from Facebook offer)
- (3) Gillette Foamy shave cream $0.34 for all 3 (regular 1.79 each – buy 3 save $5 coupon from Brandsaver)
- Alberto hair spray $1.99 (regular $2.99 – $1.00 off coupon from newspaper insert)
Total: $5.64 after coupons and taxes
Walmart:
- (3) Secret deodorants $0.71 for all 3 (regular $2.57 each – buy 3 save $7 coupon from Brandsaver insert)
- (3) Air Wick Freshmatic $0.97 each (regular $7.97 – $7.00 off coupon from newspaper insert)
- Glad sandwich bags 2×100 packs $2.88 (regular $3.88 – $1.00 off coupon found on Glad products, no longer available)
- (4) Arm & Hammer toothpaste $0.50 each (regular $1.50 – $1.00 off coupon found in newspaper insert)
- Glad freezer bags $2.98
Total: $16.13 after coupons and taxes.
I paid $5 in taxes alone for this trip to Walmart! I’ll be bringing the Freshmatic kits to work…my boss tends to buy really stinky air fresheners otherwise!
Also, the kits are normally priced at $14.97 so I thought paying only $0.97 for them was a great deal!
Have you gotten any good deals lately? Care to share?

That is an awesome haul. I will have to stop by superstore for the grapes. This weekend I did a similar run. I scored 18 pack of Large Eggs for $2 (limit 3 packs per person) and $4/lb ($8.80/kg) boneless skinless chicken breasts at Sobey’s. The other major score was Loblaws had Tide HE (26 loads) for $5 a bottle (regular $9.96) and I had a PG Brandsaver coupon for save $5 when you buy two bottles 26 loads or higher. So I got a bottle for free, plus half off the original price. Love the deals.

Today’s the last day for Crest toothpaste for 80 cents, and if you have either the $1 off or 50 cent off coupon from P&G Brandsaver, you’ll get a great deal!
Sale on at Safeway and Real Canadian Superstore is price-matching the deal. Of course if you have the flyer, then you can get Wal-Mart to price match as well.
cheers!
