I’m Wondering – What Can You do With Kleenex Boxes

I got thinking, as I was just folding an empty tissue box for the recycling, rather than recycling it, what are some other uses for an empty tissue box?  So…

I’m wondering:  What are some ways we can reuse empty tissue boxes? :)

Good question. I had bought a lot of sauce packets a while ago that were a great deal and didn’t have a good way to store them. I had a tall tissue box that I had just emptied so I cut off its top and placed the packets inside. The size and height of the packets and box were a perfect fit. I also put the sauces in alphabetical order so it is super easy to find what I need.

  2. Kleenex boxes can be super fun on rainy days. We like to use one on each foot to skate around on the carpet. (Sometimes we let the kids do this too…)

  3. Storing Grocery bags! I pinned one up in my pantry and it made a great dispenser!

  4. I’m a crafter so I often use my cardboard (cereal boxes, tissue holders etc) for cards/scrapbooks. Most die machines take the board well so it’s cheaper than buying shapes/letters at the store. I simply add glue and cover it with paper to match what I am making :)

I keep empty ones in the car to store garbage when we’re on the road! Then when we get to a garbage can, I just dump the whole thing, box and garbage inside!

Just this week, I was shopping for a basket to hold all my potions and lotions on a narrow shelf in the bedroom. I had no luck until I realized I had a pretty-patterned Kleenex box that would do the trick, if I just folded in and taped down the top. It’s just the right size and the tulip pattern suits the room!

  7. Cut off the top and they make good sock organizers for your dresser drawer.

  8. My daughter loves them for doll beds or storing small toys. She can decorate them any way she likes and if they get ripped, there’s always another one emptying soon!

    Garbage receptacle for your vehicle.

Storing items – pencils or crafts supplies; spice packets in the kitchen cupboard, small bathroom items (ie. free samples that you get in the mail!)

I saw this idea on pinterest recently: Attach an empty Kleenex box to the one you are using (they used an elastic band) so you have a place to stuff those used Kleenexes and save you trips to the trash can.

  9. I write the date on the outside of an empty kleenex box. I keep it on top of our microwave. My husband and I “stuff” every store receipt we get into the empty kleenex box. Once it is full, I write the date on the box again, store the box in our filing cabinet, and start another empty box! You would be amazed how many times I go back into those kleenex boxes to recover an old receipt. It has even saved a friendship. An elderly lady friend and I went shopping together. We both bought cushions. A few months later, she “accused” me of taking her pillow. She thought she forgot it in the trunk of my car. I pulled out my receipt from the kleenex box and proved I did, indeed, purchase the pillow.
