Skip to My Lou has a recipe up for Green Candied Popcorn! Maybe this would make a wonderful treat for St. Patrick’s day?
A question from me, since this recipe calls for a bit of corn syrup, is there a suitable replacement for the corn syrup?

Thanks for posting this! I’m gonna make some for the daycare kids…
as for the corn syrup question, are you asking because of all the information out there about “high fructose corn syrup” and the deservedly bad rap it has received? Just plain old corn syrup that we can all buy in our baking aisles is NOT the same evil stuff as HFCS, and you needn’t be worried about using plain corn syrup as needed in recipes.
Hope that helps with what you were wondering…

I Googled this and came up with:
Honey, or simple syrup (1/2 water, 1/2 sugar, boiled til dissolved and cooled). If the texture of the corn syrup is more important than the sweetness factor, go with the honey.
Hope that helps! As Jane said above though, “normal” corn syrup really shouldn’t be a problem.

I use brown rice syrup as a replacement since my son has a corn allergy.
