For those of you not in the know, the first Tuesday of each month is 10% off day at both Sobeys and Safeway! Here’s how you can save:
- Sobeys: Spend $50 or more, save 10%. (only in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba)
- Safeway: Spend $35 or more, save 10%, or earn 10x Base Air Miles reward miles.
Today happens to be the first Tuesday of the month, so you may want to head to either Safeway or Sobeys to get your discount if you need some groceries!
Another good thing about this promo is that when you use coupons during this promo the 10% comes off BEFORE the coupons! I’ve saved oodles of money during this promo by using up my FPCs and high value coupons on this day. Just an added bonus to this promo!

In Alberta, we also have 15% or 15 times the points on the first Tuesday of each month at Save On Foods. The first on the first of each month also gives 10% at the local IGA. Safeway also has the option of 15% off or 15 times the airmiles for that day if you spend over $150.
Superstore often has a similar deal, except that the min is $150 and you would get a gift card- must check their flyer.

LOL, I was going to post abou the 15% off at SOF but Kristy beat me to it.
Today at SOF I saved $140.00 between coupons and the 15% off deal! It worked out to a savings of 1/3 off the bill.

Most of the cashiers I’ve run into at Thrifty Foods (Sobeys) want you to provide the coupons with the items so they can check the coupons against them. And then they take off the coupon amount right then and there…
