I cut cotton yarn, left overs from knitting dish cloths about 4" long, fold in half and dip them in melted wax from candle stubs and then place them in egg carton and cradle them with lint, pour melted wax to stabilize and then add sawdust around the wick and pour more melted wax all around. They work well for campfires or starting the wood stove. I melt the stubs in an old can bathed in hot water and make a pouring spout by squeezing the can a little on one side.
