I’ve tried this recipe twice and can’t get them to stick together. I just get candied cereal. HELP! I’ve tried just boiling for 2 minutes. Then I tried 3 minutes…. I must be missing something. (I used maple syrup).

Okay people. 😂. Because I’m lazy, I stirred the chocolate carefully right into the 9×13 pan and it worked just fine. And it was super delicious. Yum!!

We are able to buy them at Food Basics. (Lindsay, On) They aren’t always along with the regular boxed cereals.

I have eaten these squares all my life but cannot find puffed wheat anywhere…even checked Amazon and Costco websites. Can anyone help…I’m from Northern Ontario.

good tip, it is much easier to ‘mix and coat’ in a large bowl and then transfer to baking dish!

In reply to Davina. Kamut is actually what I used and it worked perfectly! I had them on hand so I don't have any suggestions as to where you can find plain puffed wheat. Sorry!

Where do you find puffed wheat these days? I have been looking for it and all i can find is puffed Kamut……

I just read this recipie and I think that the puffed wheat should be put into a bowl, pour the liquid over and mix thoroughly and then press into the 9 x 13″ pan. otherwise you may have puffed wheat all over the place and not all the pieces will be covered. I have made this many times and it is delicious.
