Homemade Baking Mix
Here’s my recipe for homemade baking mix! Use it in any recipe in place of Bisquick. I really like it because it uses butter rather than shortening!
Recipe adapted from All Recipes.

Homemade Bisquick
Ingredients
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup baking powder
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup butter
Instructions
-
In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
-
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 weeks or in the freezer for up to 6 months.
Recipe Notes
To make this a whole wheat version: Replace 3 cups all-purpose flour with 3 cups whole wheat flour and add 2 more tablespoons of baking powder.
If you store the mix in the freezer do you need to thaw it before using it?
If you waited to add your butter until you prepared whatever, how much butter would you use? I’m asking, because I don’t want to only have such a specific time to use the mix..
