I'm very late to this party, but that is the beauty of the internet! If anyone reads this, I solved the problem of the chocolate not melting very well by adding 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to the chocolate. It melted beautifully and stayed liquid and silky all the way through the dipping. If anyone is allergic to nuts and can't have coconut, you can use regular shortening. I also want to try this with the mint Oreos as well as the peanut butter.

Hi Christa, you know, I don't remember exactly (I'll be making a note of it this year after I make them!) but I'd guess about 2 dozen. I think it really depends on how big you make them. I did freeze some last year and they were still great. Hope that helps!

I've seen it at Walmart but it has been awhile. I actually just made these this afternoon again and I used vanilla bark from GFS and rolled the tops in crushed candy cane. Worked GREAT! I can't wait to give them away!

I usually stick them in the freezer and pull them out as needed for parties...etc, but I'm sure they'd be fine sitting out while you're serving them!

Try finding the Almond bark in the baking section. I know in my grocery stores it is hit or miss. you can also use the white chocolate melting candy pieces sold at most craft stores.

I agree! The bark works the best! And I, too, drizzle melted chocolate over top of them. I've made these the last 3 Christmases for my family, mostly because after the first time they have been the #1 request!
I never thought to use Mint Oreos. What a great idea! Thank you :)

I make these bon bons all of the time and find that almond bark works much better than the semi sweet chocolate or chocolate wafers and then when finished i melt chocolate chips to drizzle over each oreo truffle! super fun!
another tip...instead of using regular oreos i like to change things up by using peanut butter oreos or mint ones!!!! SUPER YUMMY!
