This is a great overview of Canadian cash back apps! I had no idea there were so many options available. I’m definitely going to try a few of these to maximize my savings on everyday purchases. Thanks for sharing!

In reply to Taya K. Rebates for products purchased are not considered income in Canada. Rebates are essentially the same thing as coupons, except instead of saving money at point of sale, you get it back as a rebate. Income is money made for services rendered, which is something completely different than any form of savings, be it via coupon, app, or otherwise. Just as you wouldn’t calculate every dollar you’ve saved by shopping sales or utilizing coupons to claim on your taxes, neither would you count any form of rebate for such. In reply to angela. While I'm not 100% sure, I would think Canada Revenue wouldn't count it as income. I'd contact those working at the cash back sites for the correct information though as they've probably gone through the legalities.

the only bad part is now people are taking advantage of these, buying the items, getting the receipt cleared and then returning said products to store (there was a post on redflagdeals of a person who works at a sdm I think it was noticing this happening)
