I must say, as I’m looking back on 2010, it’s been a very good year!  Although the year was not without some personal struggles, I have many highlights to my year listed below.

A trip to Mexico – Probably one of the best vacations I’ve had!  Knowing that my husband’s sister was wanting to have a destination wedding in January, we started saving up so we could enjoy a week away in the warmth of Mexico.  (and because it would have been frowned upon if we missed the event! 🙂 )

A trip to Phoenix– After being home for only a couple of weeks from Mexico, we were off again.  This time to Phoenix to visit some family and a friend that moved there.   The weather was actually less then ideal, but we had a blast nonetheless.  It was a cheap trip since we used some credits we got when we booked our trip to Mexico through WestJet Vacations.

My trip to Colorado for the Savvy Blogging Summit – My first, and so far only, blogging conference was awesome.  It was so great to meet so many like-minded people and to learn how I can make Simply Frugal better for you all!  There are still some things I learned that I would still like to implement, but everything takes time.

Moved over to WordPress.org– I think the best major thing I did for Simply Frugal was moving everything from Blogger to WordPress in March.  (These are platforms for creating websites.)  WordPress has opened up so many new possibilities and features that I think, make Simply Frugal a better place to visit.

I wrote an article for the Yummy Mummy Club – So this article I wrote opened up a whole new series on Simply Frugal.  You’ll know it as the No Spend Challenge.  There was so much interest in the challenge that I decided to do it again in March.

National Post article – The No Spend Challenge even got noticed by Mary at the National Post!  She wrote an initial post on the challenge and then followed up with a weekly post about her own personal challenge.

Balance My Life contributor – For the last half of 2010 I became a regular contributor at Balance My Life.  I had a lot of fun coming up with some articles on new ways to save every month!

Getting to know so many of you – Now this is by far my favourite thing about starting Simply Frugal.  I’ve so so so enjoyed connecting with so many of you!  I appreciate each and every email, comment and feedback you’ve given me!  Since I’m in a constant state of learning how to cater to your needs, your input is very valuable to me!  I enjoy hearing of your triumphs, I’m here to cheer you on!  And it means so much to know how much Simply Frugal has saved you!  I have hope that we’ll become an even bigger and better community in 2011!

What was your favourite thing about 2010?
