We’ve got a big one we’ve been saving for for quite some time now. A house! We’re hoping to put a large down payment on a house that’s a bit bigger than what we have now. 🙂 (more than two bedrooms…ha!)
I’m Wondering: What are you saving for in 2016? What are some steps you plan on taking to achieve your goal(s)?

We are saving up for a seasonal campsite this year! I am super excited to spend the summer with my daughter ????
How fun!!
We are saving for retirement, a house and a trip our first wedding anniversary. We try to eat in and purchase only the essentials.
Awesome! Sounds like you’re off to a great start. 🙂
Trip to UK for Christmas to visit our son and daughter in law … I’m using the excelerated savings plan from Pinterest and taking it solely from my grocery account .. It’s fun to plan meals and spending with the intent of socking away the excess each week … So far so good!
I love that you’re having fun while saving! To visit the UK is on my bucket list for one day.
We are saving for a family holiday but the way the Canadian dollar is and the job hours its too hard to save much. We also have two kids getting braces. I need a new job paying benefits but there is nothing out there right now.
I love knowing that tough situations won’t always be that way forever. All the best in your job hunt and have fun on your vacation when you get there! It will be so worth it!
My husband and I plan to max out our TFSA contributions this year and hopefully start contributing to our RRSPs. We also plan a trip overseas to see his elderly grandparents, which will cost more if the Canadian dollar keeps dropping. It’s a trip we can’t put off as his grandparents have health issues and it may be the last time we see them.
In terms of making our savings goals reality? New jobs! We know we’re both being paid below market value for what we do and have no career growth options where we are. My husband has one interview lined up and is networking, working with a recruiter and applying for positions. He also cut down on eating out for lunch, so he’s pocketing an extra $100 each month. Recently I accepted a new job with a 30% raise, which I start in a few weeks!
Congratulations on the new job! That’s fantastic!
A laptop & a vacation
Fun!
A vacation! much needed:)
Take me! 🙂
