Hello Everyone!

Just stopping in to let you all know that I was unable to round up any deals for you today 🙁  I wasn’t home at all yesterday and that’s when I compilethem, the day before.  So rest assured that as far as I can tell, tonight I have time to round them up again for you!  Thanks for understanding.

The Savvy Blogging Summit in Breckenridge, Colorado

View from My Hotel Room!

I’m back! Posting can now return to normal! (Wait, is there a normal?)  I guess I mean you’ll start seeing more of what you’re used to seeing…coupons, freebies and store deals!

Okay, the Savvy Blogging Summit that I attended from July 8 – 11, was just amazing!  I was feeling a bit burnt out with the combination of working, blogging, keeping up on chores and spending time with family and friends.  Now, I know that those things haven’t disappeared from my life but I’ve found a new passion to keep going!  My brain is swirling with new ideas!  I must say that my blogging to-do list has grown immensely, but I’m excited!  You, my readers are worth it to me!  You have all been fantastic in jumping in to help me when I’m feeling swallowed up by lack of time.  (By the way, weren’t the guest posts I had running while I was away, great?)

Stephanie and I!

I had the pleasure of traveling with Stephanie from Keeper of the Home and Saving Naturally.  I couldn’t have asked for a better traveling companion!  Her and I were the only Canadians that attended the event but we were definitely welcomed with opened arms!  (Not that I expected otherwise.)

I had three wonderful roommates, Brandy from Savin’ Some, Tiffany from Eat At Home and Tara from Feels Like Home.  We had some great discussions!

Roomies!

One of my favourite things about the conference, besides the great sessions, was the fact that I was surrounded by bloggers.  People that knew what I was talking about and can relate to how I spend my time!  We could get all technical if we wanted!  I had a great time getting to know Joy, J.D Roth (our fabulous keynote speaker), Dana, Amy, Jami, Andrea, Jenn, Angie  and many others during lunch/dinner and dessert times!

All in all, I’m so glad I went, I’m really excited about the future of Simply Frugal!

Getting Ready for a Session!

Hello My Wonderful Readers!

I just wanted to stop in to let you all know that there won’t be any posts from me today!  Sorry!  I schedule all my posts at least the day before and we happened to be out of town all day yesterday so I didn’t have a chance to get anything scheduled!  Things should be back to normal, although we do have family visiting.  If I disappear, you’ll know why!

By the way, how was your Canada Day?

Welcome to the New Simply Frugal!

**New posts are below this post!**

Welcome to the all new Simply Frugal!

I hope you all made it here all right!   With this move from Blogger to WordPress, my desire was to make Simply Frugal a more user friendly site.  I think you might find it easier to find stuff you’re looking for!  WordPress, I think, is going to allow me to implement some new features that will make your experience here great!

You’ll see a few new things on the right hand side of the site.  I’ve added an area that will show Simply Frugal’s most popular posts for the week and an area that displays the most recent comments that you guys make!  I’m hoping this will make it easier for us to answer someone’s comment if they ask a question.

Let me know what you think of the new digs.  Yes, I designed the website myself, I’m very much a rookie and until I gain more knowledge or find money to hire a designer with, this is what you’ll get!  🙂 Oh, and please let me know if something is missing or not working properly and I’ll try to fix it!

In Memory of My Dear Grandmother, Isobel

Hi all my wonderful readers!

I’m dropping in today to let you know that a dear mother, mother-in-law and grandmother has passed away. Yesterday morning I received the call that we’ve been waiting for…my Grandmother was finally at peace. No more suffering, no more in and out of the hospital.

At the same time, I will never witness her beautiful smile, her wonderful sense of humour, or her zeal for life on this side of heaven. She will be greatly missed. Since the emotions are still pretty fresh and I value family more than any online activity, I will be taking a short break in order to properly be there for my loved ones. I hope to be back online either Friday or Saturday. See you then!
