3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task 10 Update

3 weeks to a spring clean home

I forgot to do an update post for yesterday’s task!  Basically imagine a picture of me wiping the light switches and door handles.

This morning, we did a quick mini road trip to visit some friends and to pick up my birthday freebie from Sephora so this afternoon was dedicated to light cleaning!  I did all the lights and ceiling fans except for the one over our dining room table.  That’s because we will be replacing that light with a new ceiling fan over the weekend!  I can’t wait to be rid of the current light fixture! (I’ll try selling it in a local Facebook buy & sell group.)

Here is the picture evidence that I did do today’s task:

And the very dirty cloth after I cleaned the ceiling fans:

3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task 10

3 weeks to a spring clean home

Are you ready to get your Spring Clean on?  I am!  For the next three weeks, I’m setting aside some time to complete one task a day to be on my way to a cleaner home.  I’d love for you to join me!

Task 10

  • Clean all ceiling fans and light fixtures. Replace any burnt out bulbs.

I can tell this task is going to be one of those satisfying ones for me.  I really enjoy things where I can see results right away!

As I go along, I’ll be purging items that I see we don’t need or use anymore.  I’ll either put them in a donation box or try selling them on a local Facebook Buy & Sell site.

  • Clean door handles and light switches. Take a damp cloth or a disinfectant wipe and quickly wipe around all the switches and handles.

I’ve got this one today!  I’m sure I’ll have it done in less than 1/2 hour!  I may even enlist Sienna’s help.  She loves to clean 🙂

3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task 8 Update

3 weeks to a spring clean home

Here’s my eighth Spring Cleaning update!

Today I managed to wash all the curtains and vacuum the bamboo blinds in our bedroom.  I also washed the windows inside and out.  It really helps that we have a small home with only a few windows and doors!  My husband even washed the blinds in Sienna’s room in the bathtub and raised the curtain rod in the kitchen for me!

The only thing I didn’t get to were the blind in the kitchen.  I have to do those by hand 🙁  and ran out of time.

For the sake of keeping it real, I share with you photo evidence of my poor housekeeping skills.

That is a picture of the dust web I found behind the living room curtains.  I haven’t washed/cleaned there since the curtains went up over 5 years ago.  I’m so embarrassed!  (at least it’s clean now!)

How did you do today?  Did you find any dust bunnies?  Let us know in the comments!

3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task 7 Update

3 weeks to a spring clean home

Well, I sort of knew today wouldn’t be one of my better days for accomplishing my spring cleaning task.  We had a doctor checkup and a few other interruptions in our day that didn’t let me get to any furniture moving until late afternoon. I did manage to clean under quite a few furniture/appliance items including under our stove.

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t that long ago that I cleaned under it, yet it was full of dust bunnies and a piece of broken glass!

My camera was being funny today and Jesse had the cell phone as he was at the park with Sienna so I only have that one lone picture.  But, I did vacuum under the dressers in our bedroom, the TV stand, the computer desk, the fridge, stove and another cabinet.  I didn’t get to the BIG cabinets or the washing machine and dryer since my husband wasn’t around to help.
