3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task 7

3 weeks to a spring clean home

Are you ready to get your Spring Clean on?  I am!  For the next three weeks, I’m setting aside some time to complete one task a day to be on my way to a cleaner home.  I’d love for you to join me!

Task 7

  • Clean under furniture. Remove any garbage, toys and clutter.  Move furniture to vacuum underneath. (do the baseboards too!)  Tie up any electric cords to make them tidier.

We’ve got some BIG cabinets that I really want to clean under.  I have a feeling I may be emptying the contents in order to move them. 🙁  Can I have a nap yet? 🙂

As I go along, I’ll be purging items that I see we don’t need or use anymore.  I’ll either put them in a donation box or try selling them on a local Facebook Buy & Sell site.

3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task 6 Update

3 weeks to a spring clean home

Well, today’s task was tiring!  I’m not sure what I was thinking when I scheduled this for a Monday!  Regardless, I did get almost everything done.  I just have to wash up two more pillows tomorrow to call it finished!

This picture below, is actually the last picture I got from today.  Not much proof that I finished, but the bed is actually made now!  (or else I’d be terribly upset when I head to bed to find that I forgot to put the sheets back on.)

Today I managed to move both beds and the crib, purge a few things I found underneath, clean the baseboards/walls behind the beds, wash all the sheets, two pillows, and flip our bed.

I even had the windows open!  It was a beautiful day!

How did you do with today’s task?  Were you just as tired as I was?

Are you ready to get your Spring Clean on?  I am!  For the next three weeks, I’m setting aside some time to complete one task a day to be on my way to a cleaner home.  I’d love for you to join me!

As I was preparing this post, we had just finished hosting a birthday party for our new two year old.  To say that this task overwhelms me at the moment is an understatement! 🙂  Hopefully, now that I’ve had some rest, I’ll be raring to go! Also the fact that I only have tow beds and a crib to clean under.

Task 6

  • Clean under beds and bed linens. Remove any garbage and unnecessary items.  Move beds, if possible, to vacuum underneath. (do the baseboards too!)  Wash pillows and sheets.

As I go along, I’ll be purging items that I see we don’t need or use anymore.  I’ll either put them in a donation box or try selling them on a local Facebook Buy & Sell site.

3 Weeks to a Spring Clean Home: Task 5 Update

3 weeks to a spring clean home

Guys, it’s like chaos with a two year old and trying to get these updates up at a decent time!  While I did get the freezers cleaned out, I also had to go grocery shopping for Sienna’s birthday party this weekend, put laundry away, work, play and make meals.  I know, I know, most of you are in the same boat. 🙂

I’m ashamed to admit, but I threw out almost 5 grocery bags of stuff from both of our freezers 🙁  It felt sort of good though, because I have been looking at that stuff for quite some time thinking I should really throw it out. Now we only have stuff that is edible!

Here’s our fridge freezer before and after.  Tidier and crumb free:

And our deep freezer.  I really wanted to defrost it, but it’s too warm here to store the food outside and our little freezer was too full!  It’s on my list for a winter project 😛

Not a huge noticeable difference, but it’s definitely emptier and I can see everything we have because it’s organized!  I almost wish we didn’t have the deep freezer because it’s so empty right now and seems like wasted energy, but our fridge/freezer is only an apartment sized unit, so things get tight really quickly!

How did you do with today’s task?  Please share in the comments!
