This recipe for Oreo Truffles goes on my list of very easy recipes! I made them for the first time last year and they were a huge hit, so of course I had to make them again!
Oreo Truffles
1 bag of Oreos
1 block of cream cheese, softened
1 Package semi-sweet chocolate (or chocolate melting wafers)
Toppings: crushed candy canes, sprinkles…
- Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs with a food processor or use a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin/hammer/rock…
- Add the crumbs to a big bowl with the softened cream cheese. I use my Kitchenaid mixer to mix until it was all well incorporated.
- Roll the cream cheese Oreo mixture into 1″ balls (or whatever size you’d like) Place on a cookie sheet with waxed paper. Chill in the fridge for about 1 hour.
- When you truffles are almost finished chilling, start melting the chocolate slowly. (in the microwave or on the stove)
- Drop one or two truffles into the melted chocolate and use a fork to remove them, letting the excess chocolate drip. Place them back on the waxed paper.
- Now is when you want to add the toppings, before the chocolate hardens. I used some Christmas sprinkles I had on hand.

OMG! I have just added this to the mental list of must makes!
LOVE IT!!

Oh my goodness, perfect timing, My boss just made these and brought them in to work today. I just looked at them, but everyone else ate ate ate said they were delicious. I may have to try them with the sugar free oreos and convert the rest over to sugar free. Sounds good to me….
Thank you for sharing.

I make these bon bons all of the time and find that almond bark works much better than the semi sweet chocolate or chocolate wafers and then when finished i melt chocolate chips to drizzle over each oreo truffle! super fun!
another tip…instead of using regular oreos i like to change things up by using peanut butter oreos or mint ones!!!! SUPER YUMMY!

I agree! The bark works the best! And I, too, drizzle melted chocolate over top of them. I’ve made these the last 3 Christmases for my family, mostly because after the first time they have been the #1 request!
I never thought to use Mint Oreos. What a great idea! Thank you

Where do you find the almond bark? I have not been able to find it for another recipe I wanted to try.

Try finding the Almond bark in the baking section. I know in my grocery stores it is hit or miss. you can also use the white chocolate melting candy pieces sold at most craft stores.

I’ve seen it at Walmart but it has been awhile. I actually just made these this afternoon again and I used vanilla bark from GFS and rolled the tops in crushed candy cane. Worked GREAT! I can’t wait to give them away!

I think I may changed the cream cheese to peanut butter and some marshmallow creme. Definitely excited to try this from my family on Christmas Eve! YAY!!!

I just made these tonight. Super easy, and they taste wonderful! I like to use the white chocolate almond bark. It has a nice color contrast.

These sound perfect To add to the list of cookies we make for Christmas!! Quick question…because of the cream cheese, do they need to stay refridgerated??

I usually stick them in the freezer and pull them out as needed for parties…etc, but I’m sure they’d be fine sitting out while you’re serving them!

Here in Canada you can get them as low as $1.99 right now at Rexall/Pharmaplus, or when they’re not on sale for about $3.

I made these for my sons’ birthday and they turned out really good. Very easy to make!

Approximately how many does one recipe make? I am doing a big baking day with some friends and need to make 15 dozen of a recipe. I would love to try these ones. Also, have you ever tried freezing them?

Hi Christa, you know, I don’t remember exactly (I’ll be making a note of it this year after I make them!) but I’d guess about 2 dozen. I think it really depends on how big you make them. I did freeze some last year and they were still great. Hope that helps!
