Another week! Another week with meals to eat and prepare!
There are actually two meals that were on the menu last week that never got made. Only because my husband decided to make something different one night and we used a Burger King coupon another night. (Not really a good choice on our part!)
Here’s what I’ve got in mind for this week:

Here we are, 2012! A time for fresh starts and new beginnings!
Although menu planning isn’t a new thing for me, perhaps it is something you’re wanting to try this year. I find it not only saves us so much grocery money, it saves my sanity! Later this year, I plan on doing a series of sorts to help you get started menu planning. I’d really appreciate any questions you have on the topic so I can give you just what you need to succeed at menu planning!
I would also like to add a new feature to my weekly menu plans in the coming weeks: a printable list of the grocery items needed to make the meals. What do you think?
Anyways, I’ll get on with the meals I have in mind for this week:

This week, I’ll be starting some Christmas baking and I’m hoping to start decking the halls today. That will happen if we can get downstairs tidy enough to set things up. We’ve been doing some fairly major purging in anticipation of the baby, therefore creating a mess before it gets clean! We also have out first baby purchase (a stroller and car seat travel system) taking up the living room since we’ve no room in the baby’s room right now!
Since I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the amount of purging and a smallish kitchen renovation project (our counter needs replacing) that I’d like to finish before Christmas, meals will be simple this week. Especially if we do the counter, I’ll have no counter or a sink for a time! Here’s what I’ve got in mind:
Here’s what I’ve got planned for my Christmas baking:
What will you be eating this week at your house? And what’s on your Christmas baking list?

Almost time to make my homemade marshmallows for the season!
Here’s what I’ve got in mind for this week, a couple things didn’t get made last week, so they’re back in the plan!
Oh, and for lunches this week, we’ll be eating dinner leftovers and soup!

I definitely feel more under control this week. With the giveaways wrapping up this week, I’ve had time to plan a menu! I’m also pretty excited that I feel like I have more time to devote to dinner making, now that I’m finished work at the golf course! I hope there will be less one dish meals, mainly for my husband’s sake.
I’d also like to somewhat start writing down lunch ideas. I’m terrible when it comes to lunch, I’m quite happy with snacking. Unfortunately, this method usually doesn’t make me full and I really need to give the baby proper meals 🙂
Here’s what I’ve got in mind for this week:
Lunches:
Dinners:
- Out for my husband’s birthday
- Chicken Pesto Pasta with bacon
- Sweet & Sour Chicken, rice, steamed veggies
- BBQ sauce meatballs in the slow-cooker, rice, veggies
- Sunshine ham (recipe coming), mashed potatoes, salad, veggies
Do you have any lunch favourites to share? I’d love to create a nice lunch inspiration list! 🙂

Happy Halloween! Our only Halloween activity is to go watch some fireworks at a local beach put on by the firemen! (with hot chocolate of course)
Can you believe it’s almost November already? This baby is going to be here before I know it! And I’ve got so much to do! (Including some freezer filling, which I’ll be posting about in the coming months)
Here’s what I have in mind for dinners this week:
I’d also like to make a pot of potato soup for work lunches and some muffins for easy snacking! (any great recipes to share?)
