Menu Plan Monday – Week of December 21, 2009

It’s Christmas week! Probably the busiest week of my year! This past weekend I attended 4 parties. Two on Saturday night alone! The week up to Friday is also looking pretty busy. But you know, it’s all fun stuff and I get to visit with friends and family. That makes it all worthwhile, I think!

With all the busyness of the season, I only have to account for 2 dinners as we’ll be out the for the rest of them!

Monday: Chili, buns
Tuesday: Out for my Dad’s birthday (I’m bringing birthday cake)
Wednesday: I’ll be in Vancouver picking up my brother!!!
Thursday: Garden Chowder
Friday: Christmas Dinner! (I’m bringing cheesecake!)

For the two meals I do have to prepare, I’ve left them really simple as you can see! If you would like to see what others have planned this week, check out I’m an Organizing Junkie!

Menu Plan Monday – Week of December 7, 2009

So, are you all getting into the Christmas spirit yet? I’ve decorated our home but the weather has been uncharacteristically cold and unsnowy for this time of the year. Snow just makes Christmas, in my opinion!

I think we did pretty well last week at cleaning out our freezer. Most of the meals or leftovers I froze have been eaten up. I even found a cherry pie I baked as a treat one night! Plenty of room for some Holiday baking now!

I guess this week, I’m actually going to make meals from scratch. At least I enjoy cooking…most of the time! Here’s what I’m thinking for this week:

Monday: Sesame chicken, rice, broccoli and carrots
Tuesday: Dinner Party out!!
Wednesday: Parmesan Chicken & Broccoli Pasta, using leftover sesame chicken
Friday: BBQ Pork Chops, Roasted Potatoes and Carrots, Garlic Cheese Buns

This week’s meals are bit more time consuming, but I’m sure my husband will really appreciate it! After all, I haven’t made anything that isn’t from the freezer in a while! If you need a bit more inspiration for your menus check out the links at I’m an Organizing Junkie!

Menu Plan Monday – Week of November 30, 2009

Well, here we are, on the last day of November! December is upon us as well as the holiday season! My favourite time of the year. It’s this week that I’ll start decking the halls around our home and start putting together my Christmas baking list!
Since this week is going to be a bit crazy around our house and the fact that our freezer is full of meals that need to be eaten, I’ve deemed this the ‘eat from the pantry week’! I really have to clean out our freezer!
So here’s what I think I have in our freezer that I’ll be applying to the menu this week:
Monday: Sloppy Joe Calzones
Tuesday: Cream Cheese Chicken over rice, veggies, salad
Wednesday: Beef Vegetable Soup, bread?
Thursday: Broccoli and Chicken Pie (not from the freezer)
Friday: Beef Fajitas
So there you have it! If you would like to see more menus, visit I’m an Organizing Junkie!
I would also like to invite you all back each day this week for some special features I’m having all week long! Some features to help you out with the Christmas season!

Menu Plan Monday – Week of November 23, 2009

Hello again! Well, I think I have some menu changes to make now that I’m not working. I always took leftover dinners for lunches while I was working, but now I’m at home all day so I have to remember to make less dinner each night! I ended up throwing out some pasta because I got a little carried away when I was making it! I’ll learn eventually. So this week I’m factoring some leftovers for dinner. Makes it a lot easier on me anyways!

Monday: Out for dinner (Hubby’s birthday!!)
Tuesday: Pepperoni Pesto Pizzas (read the comments for the recipe)
Wednesday: Peanut Chicken Pasta
Thursday: Beef Fajitas
Friday: Leftover Pasta or Fajitas

Well it’s looking like a pretty easy week meal wise! Again, if you would like to see more menus, visit I’m an Organizing Junkie!

Menu Plan Monday – Week of November 16, 2009

Finally…I’m finished work at my seasonal job for the Winter! Now’s the time I get everything done that I can’t do in the summer! I would like to paint and give a simple update to our bedroom, finish some sewing projects, tidy up the house really well and do a bit of travelling! I can’t wait! Already I’m having a hard time adjusting. I kept thinking all weekend that I should get all the house cleaning done right away, but I have all week to do it now!
The best part is that I get to spend a bit more time on meal preparation and baking! I can also make use of my slowcooker more often since I’ll be home to watch it. (It cooks hot!) Speaking of meals, what are your favourite cold weather recipes? I’ve got a few favourites on our menu this week.
Monday: Sweet & Sour Meatballs, brown rice, veggies.
Wednesday: Sloppy Joe Calzones (good thing it’s in the freezer!)
Thursday: Chicken Pot Pie
The chicken pot pie and the meatballs are favourites of ours! What’s cooking at your house this week? If you’d like to see many more menus, visit I’m an Organizing Junkie!

Menu Plan Monday – Week of November 9, 2009

I’ve got a couple of new recipes on the menu this week. I think we’ll like them! The Tex Mex Chicken Skillet and the Parmesan Chicken & Broccoli Pasta are the new ones. Does anyone else like to incorporate a new recipe or two each week, or am I the only one that gets bored easily?

Take a look at our menu:

Monday: Tex Mex Chicken Skillet
Tuesday: Leftover Winter Vegetable Crumble (was made on Sunday)
Wednesday: BBQ Beef, rice, veggies
Thursday: Parmesan Chicken & Broccoli Pasta
Friday: Sloppy Joe Calzones (I still haven’t made these!)
